This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use SoundBreak, including when you use SoundBreak through ChatGPT or other third-party apps that connect to our services.
1) Information we collect
We collect information to operate, improve, and secure SoundBreak:
- Account and Profile Information: Name, email, password, and optional profile details.
- Distribution Information: Legal name and attribution details needed to release music to DSPs.
- Payment & Payout Information: Stripe Connect account information to process royalty payouts.
- Usage Data: Interactions with the platform, generated session data, device information, IP address.
- Analytics: We use tools such as Google Analytics and may use additional analytics tools to improve performance and understand usage patterns.
- ChatGPT / Apps Usage (when applicable): See Section 4 below.
2) How we use your information
- To operate and provide SoundBreak’s features
- To process royalty distribution and payouts
- To personalize your experience
- To monitor and improve platform performance and security
- To communicate with you about updates, support, and account notices
- To provide SoundBreak features inside ChatGPT and similar apps, including song generation, status updates, and account linking
3) How we share information
We share information only when necessary to operate the service:
- Stripe: To process identity verification and payouts.
- Distribution & Royalty Partners (e.g., Revelator): To deliver your music and track royalty earnings.
- AI Music Generation Partners: To generate audio and related creative outputs based on prompts and settings you submit.
- Analytics & Security Providers: To help us maintain quality, stability, and performance.
- App Platforms (e.g., OpenAI / ChatGPT): Only as needed for the app connection you initiate; we do not receive your ChatGPT password.
- We do not sell your personal information.
4) ChatGPT and third-party apps
If you use SoundBreak through ChatGPT (or a similar app platform), we may process the following information to provide that experience:
- Anonymous app identity: A hashed identifier associated with your ChatGPT (or similar) session. We do not receive your ChatGPT password or full ChatGPT account credentials.
- Prompts and creative inputs: Song prompts, lyrics, artist/cowriter selections, and related generation settings you send through the app.
- Generation and song metadata: Generation status, titles, genres, audio/listen links, and similar metadata needed to show progress and play finished songs.
- Account linking (optional): If you choose to create or sign into a SoundBreak account from ChatGPT, we may link your app identity to that account and move complimentary guest projects/songs into it.
We use this information to:
- Provide AI co-writing and in-chat playback
- Enforce complimentary generation limits for anonymous ChatGPT users
- Link ChatGPT usage to a SoundBreak account when you request it
- Operate, secure, and improve the ChatGPT / app experience
Guest or ChatGPT-linked generation data is retained as needed to operate the service, enforce limits, support account linking, and respond to support or legal requests. You can request access, correction, or deletion as described in Section 6.
SoundBreak does not reconstruct your full ChatGPT chat history. We only process the inputs and tool requests sent to SoundBreak through the app connection.
5) Social & DSP distribution
If you choose to distribute music through SoundBreak, your name and co-writer attribution may be included in metadata sent to music distributors and streaming platforms.
6) Your rights
- Request a copy of your data
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Request that we stop certain processing
- Sign in to SoundBreak to manage your account, tracks, and connected preferences where available

7) Data storage & security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to continuously improve the safety of your data.
8) Children’s data
SoundBreak is not intended for children under 13 (or the age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect children’s data.
9) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our features evolve. If changes are significant, we will notify you in-app or by email.
